American Cancer Society (ACS)

ACS provides information about breast cancer and lymphedema from a comprehensive cancer information database. ACS also offers the Reach to Recovery program. Volunteers from Reach to Recovery are women who have had breast cancer and are specially trained to share their knowledge and experiences in a supportive and non- intrusive manner. The program offers ongoing support groups dealing with the general challenges of breast cancer.

National Alliance of Breast Cancer Organizations (NABCO)

NABCO is a non-profit organization that is a resource of information about breast cancer (that includes lymphedema) and a network of more than 370 organizations that provide information on detection, treatment, and care.

National Cancer Institute (NCI)

NCI is a government agency that provides cancer information to people with cancer and their families, the public, and health care professionals. NCI’s CancerNet offers information on lymphedema selected from PDQ®, their cancer information database.

National Lymphedema Network (NLN)

NLN is a nonprofit agency which offers information and education about lymphedema, a referral service to medical and therapeutic treatment centers, and information on locating or establishing local support groups. It publishes the NLN Newsletter quarterly which contains articles on lymphedema and related topics, including a Resource Guide of treatment centers, physicians, therapists and suppliers; a listing of over 100 lymphedema support groups, PenPals/NetPals, and special features.
